Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn, an American actress. The most well-known of her roles is Skyler White on her role on the AMC show Breaking Bad, for which she won the Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 and 2014. Both awards were for Outstanding supporting actress for a Drama Series. The other roles she played are Jean Ward in The Practice and Martha Bullock from Deadwood. Anna Gunn was born in Sante Fe New Mexico, in the year 1968. The actress fell in love with performing in Preparatory School prior to moving to Ohio with her family in late 1970s. The theatre school she attended was Northwestern University and spent a year with the British American Drama Academy. Anna was employed in the theatre of the Chicago area for several years prior to trying her hand at acting in television and film roles. In 1992, Anna got her first major performance in the role of Arden in 29 episodes in the series Down the Shore. In the following years, she was an actor in few TV shows and films, including Seinfeld and NYPD Blue through the mid 90's. She was then cast in a role that she reprised as Jean Ward in The Practice. Martha Bullock was her role in Deadwood in two full seasons. In 2008 she was cast as Skyler for the show Breaking Bad. Sully is the Deadwood film and other films have also featured her. Gunn also took to the stage to play in David Schwimmer's production of Sex With Strangers. She played the role in the podcast's four-part audio drama called Numbered Days, which premiered in 2022. Breaking Bad is often built around Walter White's relationship with the wife of his character, Skyler. The strained relationship and eventual demise reflect the sad end of Walter White.
