Sundar Pichai-1-1024x630Buffett declared that he was planning to give over 80 percent of his wealth to charities. He raised the amount to 99.9% in 2020. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was the main beneficiary. It was founded by Bill Gates, Microsoft founder and his wife Melinda. They focused on education and world health. Bill and Buffett have been close to each other since the early 1990s. Other organizations that were able to receive donations were those that were run by Buffett's kids, and the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation named after his late wife. The foundation focused on reproductive health for women and provided scholarships for college. In the year 2010, Buffett together with Gates created the Giving Pledge. This pledge encouraged other wealthy people to give the majority of their fortunes to charitable organizations.
